The Humility of God in the Incarnation

Hope lay in a manger on the very ground He created.

The cries of all humanity answered in the sweet cry of a newborn.

What love of God to hunger and to thirst.

To take on flesh, to sit and eat with sinners; how low God came.

How low God came, kneeling to wash the feet of sinners.

What humility of God to weep and to feel pain.

The One to whom all honor is due, we mocked, pierced, and despised. Yet in humility, He remained silent.

What love of God to be nailed to a cross by those He created.

From manger to the cross, how low Jesus came.

How can we ever thank Him enough?

What joy to know Jesus is Emmanuel.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” -John 1:14
